Our Programs

For CNA/GNAs

CNAs or GNAs are in large demand with an estimated hourly wage of $12.00 to $16.00. They usually work in hospitals, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, and long-term care facilities.

Our training program designed for CNAs/GNAs provides personal care services under the direction of a registered nurse. This set-up ensures high quality and safe delivery of health care services and assistance in the provision of patient care, which reflects our philosophy and standards of excellence in health and nursing care for our patients.

Upon Completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant Program, the student will be able to:

  1. Meet the state and federal requirements for certification as a nursing assistant.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to provided safe and competent care for residents in long term care environments.
  3. Practice caring behaviors that impact geriatric residents.
  4. Use effective communication techniques for positive outcomes.
  5. Recognize and respect personal values, beliefs, and cultural diversity
  6. Understand the MD Code of Regulations and Nurse Practice Act regarding legal and ethics considerations for working in long term care.
  7. Understand basic anatomy and physiology and how the process of aging effects changes in body systems.

  9. Flu Shot (only required during flu season)

CNA/GNA CLASSES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Day Class: (4weeks) 3 Weeks of Instruction M-TH OPTION 1:8:00am-4:30pm/1 Week of Clinical

(4weeks) 3 Weeks of Instruction OPTION 2: 9:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday

Evening Class: (5 Weeks) 4 Weeks of Instruction M-TH 5:00 pm- 10:45pm/1 Week of Clinical

Additional Estimate Costs of $630 to the Students for materials related to the program are listed below. Please note LHTI will provide some materials listed below for a fee however, students are only required to  purchase uniformtops from the school.

All LHTI payment arrangements are due on Mondays by 1pm at the school office.
Tuition obligations must remain current to remain in class and attend clinical experience.

Upon registration students will be given a payment plan that requires the students signature. If a student fails to follow the school's payment schedule. A one-time written warning with a deadline will be given to the student (signature required). If the payment is not made by deadline the student will be dismissed for not following the tuition policy.

EKG/ECG Technicians

An Electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) technician is a cardiology technician with specialized training in operating equipment used to measure a patient’s heart performance. Phlebotomists

A phlebotomist is a health care support professional who draws blood for testing, research, donations, or transfusions. This group of professionals is one of the largest among health care workers. Phlebotomists can become Medical Lab Technicians, Clinical Research Assistants, Lab Scientist, or Lab Teachers. The average wage of phlebotomists in the U.S. is $15.18 per hour.

Medication Technicians

A med tech or medication technician provides patients with non-injectable prescription medicines. This job may require standing for extended periods. This health care personnel work primarily in Assisted living and retirement homes under the supervision of registered nurses or other medical staff.

Their average salary is $24,694.

About Our Continuing Education Programs Admission Requirements and Fees

Phlebotomy and EKG Training Continuing Education Requirements

In order to enroll in the continuing education phlebotomy course, an applicant must first provide evidence that he or she has prior training specifically in venipuncture. The same applies to ECG/EKG training—an applicant must show evidence of having previous experience in ECG/EKG. You cannot enroll in either of these programs if you can’t establish prior occupation or specific training and experience.

  • Must Be at Least 18 Years of Age
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development or GED (Must Submit an Original Diploma or Formal Transcript)
  • Applicant Must Have Proof of Specific Occupation Experience or Training for the ECG/EKG Program or Proof of Specific Occupation Training or Experience in Venipuncture for the Phlebotomy Program
  • Copy of a Recent Drug Screen and a Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) Screen (Results Must Be Within 30 Days of Acceptance Into the Program)
  • Hepatitis B Records
  • Copy of Recent Physical
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or First Aid
  • Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Background Check
  • Negative Covid-19 Test
